Once again, we are incredibly fortunate to have great tours visit our shores & the Australian tour of Incubus & Live is not exception.

Touring together for the first time & sharing a co-headline slot is a huge win for punters & the full capacity Margaret Court Arena, proved testament to this.

Incubus opened the night to an enthusiastic crowd who, for the most part, were keen to relive memories. Kicking off with tracks from their most popular records - Morning View & Make Yourself, had the punters singing along early with Brandon Boyd in incredibly fine voice & the mostly original band were solid. Along with the hits, we were also treated to the heavier tracks like Vitamin from S.C.I.E.N.C.E. & excellent versions of The Beatles “Come Together”, Portishead’s “Glory Box” & Bowie’s “Let’s Dance”.

Live followed after a short interval & again we stepped into the time machine. Ed Kowalczyk, the only original band member remaining in this current line-up, dives straight into the hits from Throwing Copper, including “Hold Me Up”, “All Over You” & “ Selling The Drama”. The young & new band were precise to the original recordings & the sound out front was full, not lacking any detail at all. More hits were played from Secret Samadhi & The Distance to Here, which included a hugely beautiful version of “The Dolphin’s Cry”. We were also treated to one new song, “Leave The Radio On” which stood in stark contrast to the older Live tunes.

After a shortish eleven song set-list Live returned to perform “I Alone” & “ Lightning Crashes” for the encore.

This was a great night of nostalgia & definitely an excellent way to spend a Sunday evening.
