Two of the biggest alternative bands of the 2000s Interpol and Bloc Party joined forces for their first Australian tours since 2019 and 2018 respectively for just three shows together in Australia this week.

Playing to fans mostly in their 40s, New York's post-punk Interpol played a dark, moody set with hits including Rest My Chemistry and Evil as the sun went down. What they lack in stage presence they more than make up for with a crowd-pleasing setlist.

Bloc Party delivered a dynamic, career-spanning setlist and much to the crowd's surprise include a partial cover of Paul Kelly's Dumb Things. Frontman Kele Okereke is charismatic and energetic, pumping the crowd up with singalongs and entertaining banter.
