Sunday night, the first night of Dance Gavin Dance’s Australian tour, their first visit in many years meant this was always going to be a big one and with the tour pencilled in to visit 5 cities across Aus, include Perth and finishing off across the ditch in Auckland meant no one was going to miss out on this tour.
Heartline, the young guns from Adeliade opened the stage up with their energetic and unique sound, with the Forum starting to fill early on with anticipation of an unforgettable evening, Heartline got the crowd moving and amped up perfectly.
Closure In Moscow, the last minute entry to the bill kept the vibe going, showcasing tracks from across their discography including tracks from their newest album Soft Hell. This set being their first on the iconic Forum stage, a dream they’ve had for many years was met with many Melbourne locals singing along from the crowd.
Dance Gavin Dance wasted no time when they walked on stage, opening with Ghost of Billy Royalton and into Synergy, Head Hunter and For the Jeers to get the crowd moving on a Sunday night.
With a near sold out Forum on a Sunday night, even with last minute line up changes, Dance Gavin Dance made sure to deliver a set that won’t soon be forgotten by the eager and dedicated fans singing, dancing and moshing along to every beat.
