Listening to the latest release from Reggie - ‘Service Manual’ - is akin to the embrace of a warm December night, sitting shotgun in an old Holden going head- to-head with unsuspecting rivals to the lights….or maybe it’s the familiarity of something you trust.

Consisting of longtime musical collaborators, Peter ‘Reggie’ Bowman (Southern Sons, Ouch, Faceplant) and John Corniola (Darryl Braithwaite, Tommy Emmanual, James Reyne) this five track EP follows on where 2017’s stellar Owner’s Manual left off. We’ve also been treated with delicacies from the vault on Read The Destructions (2017), teased with single releases Undone (2018), Beautiful Mess with drum royalty Virgil Donati and guitar shredder Glenn Proudfoot (2019) and then awesomely sucker punched with Last Breath (2019). The first single from the EP, Flicker, is a standout track, with guitar hooks to die for, solid tub thumping and a chorus that is the best ear worm you could hope for.

Flicker is indicative of the EP’s sticky music, with the opening track Fell instigating the journey, again with earworm-worthy chorus hooks and incorruptible writing. The resonator guitar immersed track Sunsets and Cigarettes sits beautifully alongside Eden - with a standout lyric of the EP - “Now I’m lost in Eden, when I’m breaking even inside. Now I’m barely breathing now I’m breaking even inside.” Karmacide, to close proceedings, rolls to the starting lights, drops a V8 in the old Holden, slams it to the ground with the smell of burning rubber in the air.
