The Pinheads - Is This Real - Album Review
The Pinheads are back with their second studio LP, ‘Is This Real’, following on from their 2017 self-titled LP.

Bringing back that classic Pinheads sound, but with something a little extra in the mix; something that reminds you that this band hasn’t released new music for a period of time and that has obviously allowed them time to mature and evolve as musicians, because this is The Pinheads, yes, but this is The Pinheads in 2019.
‘Is This Real’ showcases the bands musical and artistic talents in a way that we haven’t seen before. Previously making high-energy songs loaded with shouts and high tempo guitars, the band is delving into new and unfounded territory this time round.
The LP begins with 8-minute track ‘Pure Hate’, which immediately introduces the audience to the aforementioned evolution & sound, while remaining in touch with the reasons people have fallen in love with The Pinheads in the first place; that fun, rock ‘n’ roll, grungey vibe that The Pinheads have perfected in such a unique way.
The first single release from the LP, ‘Not Like You’, is a mere glimpse into what the rest of ‘Is This Real’ has to offer. The LP is packed with head-banging, foot-tapping, air-punching music that is guaranteed to make one hell of a live show.
‘Is This Real’ drops on Friday, 24th May on all your typical formats but with the added bonus of two different vinyl releases, in the form of standard wax and a ‘Fidelity Freak’ version on splattered orange vinyl, this is one that you will definitely want to get around.
The band have a string of free “in-store” dates coming up in support of the release, check em out below.
