The Streets (UK) announce Shady Nasty as Australian support

Ahead of his Australian shows next month, Mike Skinner has announced that Sydney trio Shady Nasty will be supporting The Streets across the whole tour, bringing their left-field brand of punk to the masses.
With a background in jazz and classical music, Shady Nasty incorporate their formal training with unlikely influences to create a sound that is uniquely their own. With their early EP’s drawing praise from the likes of the Guardian, NME and VICE, Shady Nasty unveiled their highly-anticipated debut album TREK in 2025. Exploring the unglamorous realities of trying to survive as an independent act in Sydney, the album earned strong support across national and community radio, while also catching the attention of Fred again.., who named Shady Nasty his “favourite band in the world right now.”
In their relatively short career, Shady Nasty have built themselves a cult following across Sydney’s underground. No matter where they perform, Shady Nasty promise a heaving mosh and an unforgettable show.
With tickets only left for Melbourne and Brisbane, fans are urged to grab theirs before it’s too late. This tour marks the first time The Streets will perform the landmark 2004 album A Grand Don’t Come For Free in its entirety, giving fans a chance to experience the full story exactly as it was intended. Punters can expect to hear era-defining singles such as “Dry Your Eyes”, “Fit But You Know It”, and “Blinded By The Lights”. Cementing Skinner as one of the UK’s most original and vital voices, the album is a cinematic journey through love, loss, chaos, heartbreak and hope.
Mike Skinner said “I’ve always loved coming back here with the band, it feels like a home away from home - the crowds are bonkers, they give as good as they get, and this is the first time we’re bringing A Grand Don’t Come for Free to the stage in full. Can’t wait to get properly stuck in over in New Zealand and Australia.”
An inimitable live performer with bountiful experience both behind the decks and on the microphone, Mike Skinner has collaborated with a who's who of British music – from IDLES to Fred Again, as well as Australia's beloved Tame Impala. Skinner is renowned for his undeniable onstage presence, quintessentially British tongue-in-cheek attitude and ability to grip audiences from crowded basements to Glastonbury headline slots.
